Samsung i8520 Beam

The Samsung i8520 Beam is the first Android phone with a built-in projector. The phone is capable of projecting a WVGA image (800 x 480). Despite the presence of a projector within the body, Samsung has managed to keep the thickness of the phone less than 15mm, which is quite impressive.

The Beam runs on Android v2.1 OS. The interface, however, is unlike any of the other Android phones that you might have seen, and has been designed to completely mirror the TouchWiz interface on the Samsung Bada. Underneath, the Beam has an 800 Mhz Cortex processor 512MB of ROM and 384MB of RAM. The display is a 3.7", 480 x 800 pixel Super AMOLED. Like the Wave, the Beam too has support for Wi-Fi 802.11n but the Bluetooth is v2.1 here. You also get 3G, HSDPA and A-GPS. The camera is a 5 megapixel unit and can record videos in 720p resolution at 30FPS. Considering the built-in projector, the Beam has a massive 1800 mAh battery.
